In 2002, the National General Status Working Group produced updated general status ranks for butterflies and freshwater fishes, including Canada ranks for all wild species of butterflies and freshwater fishes. The Canada ranks were not provided in Wild Species 2000 (ranks were "Not Assessed"). The updated ranks have been approved by the Canadian Wildlife Director Committee and are now available to the public on this site. The updated database can be downloaded on the website of the Wild Species 2000 report. Moreover, updates of 2002 now have been integrated to the species search tool on the main website.
